MONITORING LOCATIONS

Three sites have been selected classified as high traffic area, low traffic area and background. The detail of each site is given below.

1. Magar Patta : This is Magar Patta site located at Pune - Solapur highway. It is approximately 6 Km away from city. There is a Municipal hospital where samplers are placed for sampling. Its very high traffic zone (Road).


2. Manjari road : This is Hadapsar –Manjari road. It is situated at 15 Km from the Pune city. This is slum and agricultural area.


3. Background site : This is VSI campus. Here traffic is negligible. It is 16 Km away from the city


4. Frequency of sampling : Monitoring was carried out at locations described earlier period of 10 days by placing two samplers at each site. The total samples collected from these three sites are 60 out of that one sample was not good due to instrumental problem


5. Sample collection : Sampling was carried out by using Mini Volume sampler


6. Analysis : Photosynthesis rate, Leaf Area Index, Deposition on leaf
   
   
   1. Dust loading on per cm2 leaf area
      Magar patta = 0.0032gm/cm2
      Manjari roade = 0.001881 gm/cm2
      VSI = 0.001665gm/cm2
   
   
   2. Mass loading at each plant
      Magar patta = 0.2512gm/plant
      Manjari Road = 0.23068gm/ plant
      VSI = 0.2135gm/plant


7. PRIMARY PRODUCTIVITY OF PLANTS AT EACH SITE
   Magar patta = Z (productivity) = 1.884gm
   Manjari road= Z (productivity) = 2.775gm
   VSI= Z (productivity) = 2.821gm
